This blog was created to record all my humble attempts at poetry. To preserve the chronology of creation, I have post dated each entry to the date it was original written.

Life has a beauty all its own

Life has a beauty all its own.
When it is over some, choose to moan.

Yet there is peace and solace to be found.
Know that in Christ that balm is renowned.

Though today in sadness and solemnity you lay your loved one down.
Know there will be happiness and joy when again you embrace as the trumpets sound.

Life has a beauty all its own.
When it is over we, need not bemoan.

For in Christ there is a hope that transcends death's bitter bonds.
For in His Atoning Grace we are made free in eternity’s eons.

Therefore fear not and to our Redeemer look;
And earnestly seek to add your name to His book.

Life has a beauty all its own.
Rejoice and look forward in hope newly grown.

This poem written for a coworker who had just lost a loved one and who was at a loss and seeking solace.  I have since shared it with many others similarly oppressed in their mind and spirit by the loss of treasured companion.

Imagine all the chickens; Crossing the road today...

Written in response to the following line (JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.) I read in an email from my mother about why the chicken crossed the road received on June 25, 2008 at 1:30pm.  Minutes later my brain was demanding I write these lyrics.

Imagine all the chickens;
Crossing the road today...

Imagine there's no country gravies
It is so hard to do
No Pot Pies to die for
And no Coronel too
Imagine all the chickens
Crossing the road in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only chick
I hope someday you'll join us
And the chickens will be as one

Imagine no food processors
I wonder if you can
No need for fear of hunger
A chickenhood of chickens a like
Imagine all the chickens
Sharing the road in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only chick
I hope someday you'll join us
And the chickens will be as one
